Today’s message is from Leonardo da Vinci. We all love him, right?
“I love those who can smile in trouble who can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. ‘Tis the business of little minds to shrink but they whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves their conduct, will pursue their principles unto death.”
Wow! Okay. I think all of your hearts are firm. I think all of you have high values and principles, so how do we rest assured that we have the strength?
This is where walking the journey comes in and committing to it, because the more you do the practices, the more you commit to the journey, the strength within you grows.
So that you can smile in trouble, gather strength from distress, but having those tools until it just becomes natural to automatically see things in a different way.
You need the tools, so keep going! Keep using the tools. Watch what happens!
All you need to do in this moment is to breathe.
Counting down to one, each moment becomes so soothing it calms your mind and body.
You could feel strong or distressed – at any moment in life.
When you have strength, you feel empowered and ready to scale any wall or challenge you might face on your journey.
When you feel distressed, you just want to go to bed, have a drink, or shut out the world.
Do you know the most common cause for feeling distressed?
It happens when you’ve made up a ‘story’ about anything in your life.
You might think it’s a fact. But is it? Or is it your interpretation?
Leonardo da Vinci had some very cool things to say about the importance of gathering strength from events that could cause distress.
